SCCI Alphatrack provide this year’s Smart World Seminar

Historic Brooklands provided the backdrop, Mercedes Benz World provided the venue and SCCI Alphatrack provided this year’s Smart World Seminar.

Forty delegates from the county’s leading construction, Telecoms, TV, Media, M&E Contractors and House builders packed the Cinema Suite at Mercedes Benz World to listen to keynote speakers addressing the issues faced in the new smart world.

The traditional Mercedes branding at the event was swapped by the SCCI branding as they took over the facilities. Even within the prestigious AMG suite the SCCI brand was evident. The seminar kicked off with an address from David Fogelman CEO of SCCI Group. David comments “the event has been a huge success and with technology moving so fast it’s our duty to keep our customers abreast with what’s happening” David went on to say “in todays connected world SCCI remain the enablers, providing the network infrastructure that ensures everything works.

Additional speakers covered subjects which included Smart Home, provided by Comelit the leaders in Door Entry and Home Automation. Rock It showcased the unique and very exciting cloud solution for businesses, which takes connecting to Free WiFi to a whole new level. Screach TV were also on hand to demonstrate why BT Sports partnered with them to provide a ground-breaking “in venue” Sports TV platform.

One of the days speakers, Malcolm York Head of Sales the Media Services at SCCI Alphatrack commented “in today’s world of ‘the Internet of Things (IoT)’ it’s important that SCCI Alphatrack remain at the forefront of Smart Networks. We install and maintain them daily and with demand being ever more prevalent we can clearly demonstrate we’re ready for whatever technology throws at us”.

The day’s proceedings rounded up in an unforgettable experience for its delegates, they got the chance to set a lap time in the F1 simulator and see if they could beat Lewis Hamilton’s time of 1:36.540 with John Williams of Input Media coming closest at 1:45.268. A sterling effort!

Delegates were then teamed up with a Mercedes Professional Driver and had some training on how to put the latest range or AMG super cars to the test on the Mercedes Race Track and Drifting circuit. Each driver then got behind the wheel to sample the awesome performance of these 600+hp cars for themselves. And if that wasn’t enough they then jumped into the very latest Mercedes ML class 4X4s and took them off road.

At the end of the day each driver was presented with their very own Driver Scorecard from Mercedes and Duncan Moore of Crest Nicholson was presented with a collectors AMG scale model for Driver of the day. Duncan said “its been a great day, great speakers, great topics and great driving. Thoroughly enjoyed it.”
